Mac Book Air

The MacBook Air is currently one of the two laptop styles that Apple is offering.   This laptop has many  intriguing and cutting edge features that attract buyers of all types.  The MacBook is thin, and light. It has a third generation intel core processor. It also has a backlit keyboard, USB 3.0 ports, thunderbolt port, and dual-band Wi-Fi.

Most laptops have to be plugged into a power source for long periods of time in order to hold a charge for a few hours.  This is not the case for the MacBook Air, with a small charge, the battery can last for hours.  It is one of the most convenient aspects of the laptop along with its size.

The laptop does not posses and optical disk drive or a network port, which can poses a hindrance to some people.  To me I do not see this as a set back.  Since the laptop is so small in area and weight, you have to sacrifice somethings in the process.  The network port and disk drive are examples of this, but Apple does off after market disk drives and network adapters that plug in through the computers thunderbolt port.  Also with the emergence of Wi-Fi, most people do not use direct network plug in anymore.
MacBook Air buyers should understand what the MacBook Air is designed for before purchasing one. If you are planning to use it as your everyday computer, you should know, that it is not the fastest, or the most powerful, laptop you can buy. Also it is important to remember, the configuration you purchase it in, will stay the same until you purchase a new one.  If used in the right place, the MacBook Air can be the best on the market. Its extreme portability means that you do not have to worry about where and when you bring it places, because it takes up no space.  You can bring it anywhere. It is a fully capable, full-sized apple computer.  In todays market Apple has become the "Cadillac" of technology, so there is nothing better or comparable to a MacBook Air.

  1. Hey Jake, I agree that the Macbook Air is kinda cool. But the lack of a CD drive is kind of a set back because most printers or softwears require you to download it via disc. Also its thin structure makes it fairly easy to break. My friend the other night actually broke her MacBook Air just by grabbing it at the wrong angle. But overall you described the device very well and im gonna have to agree with you when you said that its not the fastest and most powerful laptop out there. Its also the cheapest MacBook you can buy. I also am wondering how the MacBook air's battery could last so long if its really small? But anways good blog!

  2. I use to have the Mac Book Air, and I was not a fan. The no disk drive was frustrating. Also the GhZ do not come as high as they do in the Pros. That makes the Air significantly slower. I believe they took too much out of the computer in order to make it slimmer. I personally would rather a larger computer with better perks, than a smaller, lighter one with not many perks. However, the computer is very sleek. It is a flashy computer that will definitely get people complements. It is a good computer if you are into graphic design as well. These computers are not really business oriented. I believe that someday Apple will come out with a business based computer. I enjoyed reading your blog, and hearing your opinions. See you in class -John

  3. My mother has a Mac Book Air and when she bought she had no idea what she was getting into. She is very into watching movies and when she found out she could not put them in, it was an overwhelming frustration. I did however help her fix that problem. She had no idea what Netflix was until this time last year. I set her up on Netflix and she loved it. The version she got had no HDMI port either so when I attempted to connect the computer to a much larger and more comfortable to TV to watch movies on I was disappointed. I have used my mothers computer before and the portability is amazing, for example when using a new cooking recipe I can just use the computer because of how easy it is to move around and that saves me a lot of time from flipping through a cook book. I would have to disagree about the Mac Book Air not being the fastest, that thing is so light it can fly like a frisbee making it the fastest computer around.
