Blog #3

Instead of driving into work, or driving to school every day. How about carpooling with a couple of friends, or a couple of co-workers that you might know. There are many pluses to carpooling including saving miles on your car because you are not going back and forth every day. Also the most obvious reason is people save a lot of money on gas each week because instead of constantly driving every day, your only driving your car maybe once or twice a week because on the other days you would be in your friends or co-workers car. Another plus about carpooling is driving in the H.O.V Lane. It is a lane that is specifically for high-occupied vehicles, hence the abbreviation H.O.V. Being able to drive in this lane every day saves time, because it allows people to drive on the highway in their own lane and usually there is little to no people in the lane. Greenhouse gas emissions are a huge problem in the United States and around the world today. They are believed to be the leading cause of global warming and by carpooling you are reducing the Carbon emissions substantially. By following these easy steps, you are helping make the air cleaner, as well as saving money and making your car last longer by not driving it every day. Now days, people are trying to find new ways to save money and this is a really good one. Instead of spending $80 to $100 a week in gas depending on the vehicle that you drive, you could be spending $80 every two or three weeks. You may not see it right away, but it really makes a difference in the long because you will start to see more money in your pocket compared to before, because that extra money was always going to gas. In all these tips will help you save money and is a much cheaper way to travel no matter where you are going.

  1. I enjoyed your blog on carpooling and why you should do it. every time me and my friends or even family all want to go to the same place we always carpool because it will save the environment over time. I also enjoyed how you talked about the H.O.V lanes because I had thought that i was the only one who still remember them if they where still around. your article was very informative and I enjoy reading your material, keep it up

  2. I agree with your stance on carpooling. I went to a private school in high school and had to commute every day. The gas would have been the death of me if I had not car pooled. I only had to drive once a week. I was only filling my tank up every few weeks. It was a great idea. Not to mention it made car rides fun. Car rides early in the morning can be long, and exhausting having friends there gets your day off to a great start. There a very little negatives to carpooling. One for instance is lack of freedom. If you are running late it can throw everyone off, and not just yourself. People might get angry at you which can suck, but other than that there is really not much. Every day that I carpooled I was in a much better mood. There is nothing better than starting a day off with a few good laughs.
