Blog#3: easy ways to achieve your goals

What are some easy ways to achieve your goals easier, faster as a college student?

Achieving your Goals could be kind of hard as a college student. Being a college student could be very hard because it an experience that is happening really fast. There is mad stuff that could keep you from achieving your goals when in college, which are parties, laziness, sometimes sports, etc…

But there are ways to overcome all of those things that can keep you from your goals, and this what my blog #3 is about.

First, you have to be motivated in the goals you are trying to reach, and you have to love the process to achieving it. Things could be stressful but I have a quote that I got from my football coach back in high school that I use almost every day a bad issue happen; “Live life stress free, don’t let drama come to you”. This quote is basically telling to stay calm doing whatever you doing and make the best of it. To achieve your academic goals, you have to “Feed your brain”, by doing a lot of meditation, a lot of good reading, and staying focus. Feeding your brain every day will make the process easier and faster already.

You also got to stay committed to what you’re doing, and never give up. With that comes the part where you have to keep track of your progress. You have to be consistent in what you’re doing. Don’t be studying one day and the next day be all discouraged to even open your book or laptop. And always focus on positive thinking. Don’t let failure get to your head, because it happens sometimes to fail, but that is not the end of the world. Failure is only like a boost to success because at least you had experience and will not make the same mistakes next time. as an example, During football practice as a wide receiver, you run routes, and expect to catch the balls at all time. your goal as a wide receiver is to catch the ball and score, but you have issues to overcome which could distract you for achieving your goal. Those distractions are: Getting hit by a Linebacker, thinking you’re going to drop the ball, not believing in your quarterback. And when you “fail”(failure)  to catch the ball and get hit by a defender, in your head it’s like a wakeup call to not make the same mistake next time.

Hope I helped you with the little knowledge I got about achieving my goals. This may work for me but not always with you, so you got to figure your own way of focusing and reaching all your goals.

  1. Achieving goals can be tough for anyone to accomplish, without the proper determination or focus. I’m glad this topic is being brought to the light. After reading your blog I can attest to how difficult academics can be while playing a sport in college. As a wide receiver how did you overcome those obstacles on the field? And how did those obstacles hinder you from reaching your goals? I play basketball and with practices, lifts, and team functions it’s almost necessary to have academic goals. I like how you highlighted that you may not reach your goals on the first try. This is very true and this is the reason that many end up not achieving their goals, not because they weren’t capable but because they gave up after falling short the first time. I learned that with success comes obstacles and if you aren’t ready to fight through those obstacles then your chances of achieving a personal goal is slim to none.
